White Balance is an option that many photographers find unnecessary to use but it's still useful know what it can do for you as a photographer.
White balance is simply a colour toning option that you can choose for different moods.
When using the white balance option it can give a very different impact upon your images as opposed to an image taken using the camera in regular setting.
